Title: Part-time Sales and Business Development Associate

Company Profile: Funny Bones Games Lounge and Café is seeking a Sales and Business Development Associate. We offer nearly 1000 tabletop games, theme and group play nights, tournaments etc. We also do great customized parties and events of all kinds, virtually, in-house and out, through our Funny Bones to Go service. There is something exciting for everyone! We offer a great selection of coffees, craft beers, wines, and other beverages, along with various food options and a developing menu. We also run play-based Enrichment Programs for campers 6+ in March break, summer, after school/fall programming. 

 

Job Description: As a result of the restrictions due to COVID-19, Funny Bones Games Lounge and Café had to pivot their business and focus on E-commerce and Virtual Play.  The Sales and Business Development Associate will assist in growing our business by identifying sales leads, promoting all of Funny Bones’ current offerings to potential private and corporate clients, and maintaining a good working relationship with the new contacts.  Other opportunities exist to the right candidate to assist in hosting duties either in-person or virtually for our corporate and/or private events as well. 

 

Qualifications:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Generate possible leads
  • Fetching relevant contact details, emailing and contacting
  • Educating and exciting customers/corporate clients about our existing portfolio of virtual and non-virtual events
  • Develop a strategy to meet targeted sales and conversion targets
  • Working closely with the Marketing Intern to promote and grow our current offerings

Skills and Behaviour:

  • Self-motivated with a magnetic personality
  • Have a passion for game play
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Efficient time management skills, able to multitask and stay organized

Education and Qualifications:

  • Preference goes to those enrolled in a marketing/business program for which completion of a work term is a requirement to graduate
  • Working knowledge of software programs such Microsoft Office/Google Sheets, Adobe Products, Social Media Apps etc
  • Familiarity with social platform insights (Facebook Analytics/Insights, Twitter Analytics, etc)
  • Various Marketing/business education or equivalent experience
  • Preferably have past work experience in sales, promotions, marketing and/or customer service fields

  • Coordinating staff/client meetings and writing down minutes and meeting summaries
  • Updating information on the website
  • Data entry and basic bookkeeping
  • Dealing with customer/client queries on the phone, email and online chat
  • Other office-related duties

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Efficient time management skills, able to multitask and stay organized

Job Description:  Event hosts will be available to host a wide variety of events for corporate, private and community events both in-person and virtually. These can be hosted at Funny Bones, or a client’s location. This job is perfect for the charismatic host looking to pick up some extra jobs.

  • Explain activities and events with clarity
  • Possess good time management and organization/preparedness for events (ie. arriving early for events)
  • Have knowledge of a wide variety of activity options offered by Funny Bones and be able to facilitate them
  • Skilled in working with the technology needed to run events in various scenarios (training provided)

Job Description: Instructors will be available to host paint and/or creative workshops at Funny Bones, occasionally at client locations and virtually. Instructors will prepare paintings/creative samples and instruct audiences with a wide variety of skill levels.

Title: Dungeon Master

Company Profile: Funny Bones Games Lounge and Café is seeking a Dungeon Master to support our Fall Programming which will be running after school Dungeons and Dragons from 4-6pm weekdays. We offer nearly 1000 tabletop games, theme and group play nights, tournaments etc. (currently virtual). We also do great customized parties and events of all kinds, both in-house and out, through our Funny Bones to Go service. There is something exciting for everyone!

Job Description: The Dungeon Master will be responsible to create, design and facilitate a Dungeon and Dragons game for a group of potentially 10 kids, ages 6 and up. Supplies, paper, printer, etc. will all be supplied. The Dungeon Master will be responsible for creating a fun and exciting, age appropriate Dungeon and Dragons play.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Dungeon Master experience (create, design and facilitate D&D games)
  • Experience with kids in different settings

Education

  • High School Level but willing to consider all applicants

Skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Efficient time management skills, able to multitask and stay organized
  • Creative and imaginative in the D&D world!

Title: Server/ CSR/Game Player
Company: Funny Bones Inc.

Job Description: The Server/CSR/Game Player will be responsible for a number of tasks including; working on the outside patio, which includes serving drinks/food; using a mobile POS machine to handle transactions, game demos and sales, and game/play/customer management. They will be responsible for following all protocols and upholding all procedures Funny Bones has in place, including current Covid-19 practices like increased cleaning/sanitizing, PPE, and more. The Server/CSR/Game Player role will also be responsible for facilitating play, promoting game sales, being able to freely talk about games and recommend games based on the customers interest/needs. We are looking for someone that loves play, games, has serving experience, and is flexible to support in a number of areas!

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Serving experience. Must have (up to date) smart serve
  • Game experience (classic games, board games, card games, video games, DnD, etc.)
  • Food preparation and Food Handlers Certification considered an asset

Education

  • College level (but will consider the right candidate)

Skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative and dynamic environment
  • Self-confidence to take the initiative to approach customers to teach/explain games
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Efficient time management skills, able to multitask and stay organized
