About Us and Our Team
Funny Bones Games Lounge at 3029 Lake Shore Blvd West in South Etobicoke opened its doors to the public in March of 2018.
We are a fantastic board games lounge with our focus being on the importance of play and its contribution to quality of life for everyone involved, no matter what age. We have over 1,000 tabletop games and jigsaw puzzles to try along with snacks and drinks to purchase.
Whatever game you choose, it always leads to some great laughs and down right fun!
Additionally, all our products including board games, puzzles, snacks and drinks are available to purchase online. We offer free local contactless delivery and curb side pick-up. As well as game and puzzle rentals as well.
We also offer virtual play packages for all types of events/parties for corporations, educational institutions and the community.
Our Team
John
John has an extensive background in varying roles within the film, television and live music/event entertainment industry. Alongside with his wife Laurie, they are the owners and founders of Funny Bones. John is passionate about games as well; one of his all time favourite games is Azul! He will be more than happy to demo that game for you!
Laurie
Laurie has spent most of her career in education; 14 of which at Humber College, Lakeshore Campus. She is the owner of Funny Bones alongside with her husband John and they live right in the neighbourhood. She is passionate about the importance of play and gamification!
Rod
Hayley
Hayley is all about playing games, whether they're video game or board-based! They love to play games with great puzzles (Ace Attorney), fun strategy (Ticket To Ride), mystery (Clue), and collaboration (Unlock Mystery Adventures).
Simon
Simon is an enthusiastic game-player and loves to learn and teach new games. He really likes light strategy, co-operative, and battle games. Though he doesn't always admit it, he can get very competitive.
Denielle
Denielle enjoys playing a variety of board and video games and is always ready to learn new ones. Anything Super Mario-related and Scrabble are some of her favourite games. Fun Fact: She enjoys painting/drawing as well as photo and video editing.
Nina
I have been playing board games with my family since I was around 3, my favorite games are big, all strategy-no luck games like Scythe and Food Chain Magnate. I am from Dublin, Ireland and have moved to Toronto this Summer for a new adventure. I also love gymnastics and hope to someday find a Simone Biles themed board game.

Hi I’m Cate! Currently finishing my journalism program at an internship with 680 city news radio. I love playing games like clue, werewolf, or any deception games are my favourite! I also love video games, my favourite would have to be Uncharted 4!

Krystal
Krystal is a competitive person — give her any type of board game, video game, or sport and she’s happy to learn its ins-and-outs. She has worked with youth over the years as a coach, camp counsellor, program director, and has recently completed her Masters of Teaching at U of T. Her current research is on using games for learning!
Fun Fact: Krystal has represented both Team Canada and Team Portugal in Ultimate Frisbee.

Alex is on his way into his second year studying English and Drama at University of Toronto. He is looking forward to a fun and exciting summer with everyone. He is a total nerd for video games and is always seen playing chess. Alex loves acting, writing, creating, playing and running track and field! Fun fact: Alex plays competitive Quidditch with the University of Toronto Centaurs.
